Quality Assurance Engineer
About the Position
Widemile is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join the group of extraordinary engineers who are creating our innovative optimization platform. The successful candidate will be proficient in the latest testing technologies and methodologies. We seek a figure capable of broadly contributing to various types of testing as need is determined.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with QA lead and independently in the pursuit of testing goals
- Tests at a black box integration level or possibly deeper as needed
- Contributes to test automation and automation improvements as needed
- Represents QA goals and initiatives in product architecture and design meetings
- Observes best practices in QA efforts. Seeks the best quality outcome realistically possible
- Contributes to the bug prioritization process and Bug Triage meetings
- Reviews requirements, writing and executing test designs, plans and cases
Required Skills:
- Must be very good at breaking multi-tier, web-based server systems
- 3–7 years solid QA experience with progressive responsibilities
- Experience using and contributing to test harnesses / automation
- Familiarity with Java and programming concepts and the ability to read source code
- Strong with Javascript and HTML. Creates and interacts easily with Javascript
- Scripting language experience with Perl or similar
- Ease and comfort with command-line UNIX/LINUX
- API-level and/or component-level testing experience desirable
- Experience with RIA testing and/or Adobe Flex desirable
- Proficient with RDBMS and SQL to the level of a web developer
- Learns and adapts to new technologies rapidly and effectively
- BS in a technical discipline, Math/Science encouraged
